February Favorites :::Favoritos de Febrero:::

February Favorites

I can't believe how fast time is going by! It seems like it was yesterday we published the January Favorites!

This month I've been focusing more on my hair and skin than other months, as you can clearly see...

1. I want to start by giving you guys the best hair mask I have ever found -and believe me I have tried it all, from the most expensive stuff from Moroccan Oil, Amika, Kerastase, you name it, I've shelled out big bucks and nothing compares to this! I found my 2 ingredients in the supermarket and spent under $5 and less than 2 minutes to make it. All you need to do is get a can of Coconut Cream which would be by the milk products or where you get stuff to make Piña Coladas and then some almond oil, which is typically at the drugstore section. I took about 1/3 of a cup of the coconut cream and about 1tbsp of the almond oil. I mixed it up really well in a bowl and applied it to my hair, which I had just misted with regular water. I put plastic wrap on it and sat in a hot cap I have from back in the day which makes me look like Holly Hobby. I kept it on for 30 minutes on low heat and then washed my hair like I normally do. The results are UNBELIEVABLE! I have the shiniest, bounciest hair you can imagine and I didn't even need to put hair drops on! WOW... And the big plus is that your hair will smell amazing. I use it once a week.

2. I've been in this really cool "greige" period for a while, looking for the perfect shade of cement for my nails. Essie has a beautiful one that compares to Chanel's Frenzy, called Playa del Platinum. If you want to splurge, I'd say go for the Chanel one, but quite frankly Playa del Platinum does it for me. I think that had it not been for the fact that they have the same type of brush, I would have gone for the Chanel one, personally I like the Dior brushes the best, because they're larger and apply so much better, but since they have the same brush, I just went for Essie and saved a few bucks.

3. One of my BFF's gave me this beautiful palette by Smashbox for Christmas and I have been reaching for it non-stop ever since. It's got really nice bright colors that I love to layer under the neutral shades and really make my eyes pop. It came with a dual sided brush and a great lid primer too, which I love. I've been loving the dark brown shade for my brows as well, which really makes a huge difference and polishes the look.

4. I've been a Bliss fan for a long time. I love their spas and their products are really great too. Since I don't have a Bliss spa nearby, the next best thing is the Triple Oxygen Mask, which is named after one of their most popular facials. It smells fresh and citrusy, which is a little different to what I expect from a facial mask, but aside from that the results are amazing. You simply moisten your face, pat it half dry and then apply a pea-sized amount of the Bliss mask all over your face. It will start to foam by itself, you'll need to sit down and relax for this, because in about 5 minutes you will have the softest, glowiest skin this side of NYC.

5. Last but not least, this month I've been really concerned about vitamins. I haven't really talked much about healthcare in the blog, but they're a huge part of my life. I take my vitamin research seriously and I have to say I've gotten really great results with these from Applied Nutrition. The first thing I love is that their capsules, I can't stand tablets. It contains over 70 vitamins, minerals and enzymes and... it has evening primrose -which is one of the most beautifying ingredients out there. I know everybody's different but this is just something that has worked for me in 2 essential areas, my hair and immunity. I honestly can't remember the last time I got the flu. You should definitely talk to your doctor before you embark on your vitamin quest. Along with this, I also take Biotin which is great for your hair, Acai, Fish Oil Supplements, Maca, Spirulina and Kyolic Garlic. I also complement it with a glass of Macro Greens which is a disgusting green powder that has over 38 ingredients that feed the body on a cellular level.
