My Secret to Relaxing at Home

My Secret to Relaxing at Home

Today I'm kicking off my birthday week with a post that has been long overdue, especially after NYFW. Keeping up with the latest trends can definitely take its toll on a gallerina, so here are a few of my absolute favorite things that can turn my house into a weekend in The Hamptons in the blink of an eye...

1. Spearmint Tea::: I had this tea with my friend Stefy at a local restaurant and then I learned how to make it myself. You can too! I have the recipe up on my foodie blog! Check it out here!

2. The Sleepy Eye Pillow in Coffee & Blue, by Lila::: One of my best friends, Itzel, makes these and they are incredible! I had actually bought this one as a going away present for someone, but ended up loving it so much I decided to give it to myself as a pre-birthday gift. I used mine during a power nap for the first time and it was unbeleivably relaxing. She makes them in a variety of colors and with different scents; I got the "Sleepy" scent.  You can get yours by dropping her a line! Get yours here!

3. Freshly Cut Flowers::: Nothing relaxes me more than fresh flowers. There's something wonderful about bringing nature into your home that I really love. I love the flowers from my backyard as much as the ones I get at specialty shops. The important thing is that the color is right for your mood and the arrangement you make is all you.

4. Something Sweet::: Cupcakes, macaroons, cookies, chocolate, anything sweet is always relaxing. In Panama I used to love the macaroons from La Vie en Rose, but since it closed, the ones in Las Hadas are the next best thing. I make my own cupcakes and treats for clients, so it's always special to get a batch of something different.

5. Cleo Body Cream::: I get this light and airy Italian body lotion online. It has a very clean smell and a light feel to it. It sinks right into your skin and the moisture is locked in immediately.

6. Seda France Paisely Zanzibar Candle::: I get these at a great shop in Bella Vista called Alegrita's. They smell amazing and last forever. I read this was Oprah's favorite candle somewhere and I can smell and see why!
